Center Overview
Located in Bukavu, in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, Buene House of Children Bukavu (BHC-BK) is now the heart of the Buene Hope Foundation’s mission.
- This center was born from the desire to concentrate all efforts and resources in a single location to ensure stable, sustainable, and complete support for children.
- Founded in 2022, following the successful experiences in Uganda and Burundi, the Bukavu center has become a symbol of continuity, resilience, and hope.

A Little Help Can Make A Big Change
Houses may close, but the hearts they changed remain open forever.
The center currently hosts several children from vulnerable backgrounds, often orphaned or abandoned, ranging in age from 2 to 14 years old.
Each child benefits from:
- A warm and secure home,
- A complete education in partner schools,
- Spiritual, medical, and psychological monitoring,
- Balanced meals and daily care.
Life at the Bukavu center is built around three core pillars:
1. Education
- All children are enrolled in partner schools, with personalized academic monitoring.
- Education remains the key to lasting change.
2. Community Life - Children participate in the center's daily life: meals, games, cleaning, gardening, prayer, and celebrations.
- We learn responsibility, solidarity, and the joy of living together.
3. Spirituality and Values - Faith is at the heart of the foundation.
- Each child learns to love God, respect themselves, and respect others.
- Faith unites us; love guides us.
Since its launch, the Bukavu center has:
- Cared for several dozen children from the region,
- Supported children's education and health in partnership with local schools and clinics,
- Developed a solid community network involving families, volunteers, and partners,
- Offered every child a tangible hope for the future.
- The impact of Bukavu is the fruit of every seed sown in Mattuga and Bujumbura.
Buene House of Children Bukavu embodies the continuity of the entire Buene Hope Foundation vision. This is where the acquired experience, learned values, and the passion that has driven us since 2019 are brought together.
