Who We Are
Rescuing, Raising & Releasing Children in Love
Buene House of Children is a child development initiative of Buene Hope Foundation, created to provide vulnerable children with a safe and nurturing environment where they can grow, learn and thrive.
Today, our work is centred in Kavumu, South Kivu, Democratic Republic of Congo, where we support children through protection, education, nutrition, healthcare, psychosocial care and daily guidance.
We believe that every child deserves more than a safe place to live. Every child deserves the opportunity to build a healthy, confident and independent future.
How we’re funded
BHC is supported by the Buene Hope Foundation, member contributions and gifts from well-wishers. We are working to widen this base through child sponsorship and partnerships.

To provide vulnerable children with a safe and nurturing environment where they can access education, healthcare, nutrition, protection and opportunities to develop their potential.
02. Our Vision
A future where every child is protected, educated, healthy, loved and equipped to become an independent and responsible adult. Our long-term goal is to move from rented accommodation to a permanent home and, in time, a school.
03. Our Approach
Protection → Nutrition → Education → Healthcare → Psychosocial support → Life skills → Preparation for adulthood.
Every step keeps the child’s safety and dignity first.
Our Journey
A Growing Mission for Children
Buene House of Children has supported children through initiatives in different communities over the years. Previous projects operated in Kampala, Uganda, and Burundi, and those operations are now closed.
Today, our active centre is in Kavumu, South Kivu, DRC, where we continue building on that experience with a clear focus on long-term child development and protection.

Your skills can strengthen our work, on the ground or remotely. Anyone working directly with children first completes our safeguarding screening, orientation and supervision.
